As Joost nears itself to the official version 1, a preview of its release was out 3 days ago. Joost is P2P-tv service. It utilizes Peer to Peer technology to provide streaming of video. it is founded bycreated by Niklas Zennström and Janus Friis (founders of Skype and Kazaa).
This preview enhances some interfaces flaws for better user experience:
- You don’t have to re-enter the user profile every time
- Many bug fixes in the Explore section make it more robust
- There have also been lots of widget enhancements / changes (not documented yet)
- Support for W3C packaging of widgets. Opera widgets will most probably work in Joost
Joost Widgets are probably one of the reason why Joost is appealing to users. It allows users to get better experience in Joosting. Just days ago, meebo is powering the Channel Chat of Joost.
Joost was officially in public beta on 1st October 2007. The momentum that Joost garnered since its launch is still pretty strong, and getting out of beta stage will be a milestone in its roadmap.
