One of the top requests for online documents & spreadsheet services is the ability to work offline and synchronize it back to online when internet connection is available.
Zoho, the online office suite which competes with Google Docs & Spreadsheet back in August only supports reading documents in offline mode. However, Zoho Writer supports editing offline from now on. All you need is to download Google Gears plugin for your internet browser and you’re off ready to work offline on your documents.
After enabling the ‘Go Offline’ function, you can visit http://writer.zoho.com/offline to access and edit your documents while offline. Clicking on ‘Go Online’ when you are back online will let you to synchronize the modified documents with the online versions.
Alternatively, OpenOffice allows you to save and retrieve files online through its OpenOffice2GoogleDocs extension.
