google-logo.pngWow, I’ve never thought that a real time communication with another person with 2 different language by each other has gotten this simple. Google Talk just did it! You can now send an English word or phrases to a specific Google Talk bot and and it will reply you back in the other language of your choice. And there are 29 languages for you to choose from now on.

What you need to do is invite the bot into your chat list and start a conversation with them. Currently 29 bots are supported, and they’re named using two-letter language abbreviations as “[from language]2[to language]@bot.talk.google.com”, and the supported language pairs are:

ar2en, bg2en, de2en, de2fr, el2en, en2ar, en2de, en2el, en2es, en2fr, en2it, en2ja, en2ko, en2nl, en2ru, en2zh, es2en, fi2en, fr2de, fr2en, hi2en, hr2en, it2en, ja2en, ko2en, nl2en, ru2en, uk2en, ur2en, zh2en.

As an example, I’ve invited the bot en2zh@bot.talk.google.com and started some light conversation with it. You can see that it replies my message with Chinese word nicely. The only inferior point of it is its inability to grasp the Chinese grammar rules. But if you would like a quick cross language dictionary, this is one sweet light handy tool. This is one neat tool while composing mails in your Gmail.
